PCHRD approves six TK Projects on Health in Caraga

Six Traditional Knowledge (TK) Projects focusing on various medical practices of the Indigenous People in Caraga region are up for funding in 2018 by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD).

These projects were crafted by the researchers from Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU), Philippine Normal University (PNU)-Mindanao, Caraga State University (CSU), Surigao State College of Technology (SSCT), and Saint Paul University Surigao (SPUS) during the two separate activities organized by the Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium (CHRDC)—Documenting Traditional Knowledge (TK) on Health on Indigenous People in Caraga and Research Proposal Development on the Documentation of Traditional Knowledge on Health of Indigenous People, last April 6 and May 3-4, 2017.

  6. Documentation of the Traditional Knowledge on the Ethno Medical Practices of the Manobo Community in San Miguel, Surigao del Sur Project Leader: Dr. Maria Lady Sol Suazo Co-Project Leader: Ms. Jocelyn B. Panduyos (Surigao Del Sur State University-Main)

Meanwhile, the proponents are required to submit ethical clearance and Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) to the PCHRD.
