CHRDC to feature local health researches in 2021 CHRF

The Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium, in partnership with DOH Center for Health Development-Caraga, will be holding the 2021 Caraga Health Research Forum (CHRF) on December 6-7, 2021 via Zoom and Facebook live.

Part of the event highlights is the presentation of local health research outputs during the plenary discussion. Caraga State University will present their research entitled “Understanding COVID-19 Pandemic Situations in Caraga Region through Epidemiological Models and Resiliency Studies (UnCOVER Caraga)”. The program aims to understand the COVID-19 pandemic situations in Caraga Region by assessing its resiliency to flu and other flu-related diseases, as well as giving assessment to the psychological, social, economic, and institutional capacity of the region to address COVID-19 impacts. UnCOVER Caraga is a PCHRD-funded program approved in CY 2020 that recently ended in August 2021.

Another health research study is “Reach and Quality of Adolescent Health and Development Services in Universal Health Care Implementation Sites (UHC IS) in Caraga Region” by the Health Systems Research Management Team of DOH CHD-Caraga. It aims to assess the reach and quality of the Adolescent Health and Development Program (AHDP) by looking at the adolescents’ health-seeking behavior and their problems and difficulties in accessing related health services in the three implementation sites of the Universal Health Care in Caraga Region to inform policies, interventions, and communications.

Furthermore, there will be a Health Research Paper Presentation, Health Research Poster Exhibit Contest through Social Media, and 3-Minute Pitch to Policymakers Competition that will feature the health researches conducted by local researchers for the last two (2) years that are aligned with the Regional Unified Health Research Agenda (RUHRA).

Through these activities, CHRDC hopes to strengthen the research culture in the region and encourage more researchers to engage in research studies that can help address the region’s priority health issues.

The 2021 CHRF is one of the activities set by DOST-Caraga for this year’s Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW). Have a full glance at the event via chrf.online. Register now to secure your slots!
