PHREB accredits CHRDC–Ethics Review Committee

The Committee on Standards and Accreditation of the Philippine Health Research Board (PHREB) has granted Level 1 Accreditation to the Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium (CHRDC) effective last 7th of May 2019 until the 31st of May 2021. The two-year accreditation will give the consortium the authority to review research protocols under its newly accredited Ethics Review Committee (ERC). Upon approval of the accreditation, the CHRDC-ERC was also given the advice to revise the Protocol of Submission Logbook and Database in reference to the given PHREB form No. 4.1. Action Plan and Compliance Evaluation form.

With the continued vision of the PHREB to adhere to the universal principles for the protection of human participants in research, the CHRDC – ERC, along with the entire members of the consortium, will also continue to uphold and pursue the standards set by the PHREB for the purpose of raising the quality of health research in the region. This means strictly following the general guidelines on ethical review of health research; and the special guidelines on specific research areas, methodology, and populations provided by the National Ethical Guidelines for Health and Health-Related Research of 2017 (NEGHHR 2017).
