The DOST- Philippine Council on Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) is pleased to announce their call for health-related R&D proposals and applications for the Ph.D. Program in Molecular Biomedicine.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: National Unified Health Research Agenda (NUHRA) and Harmonized National R&D Agenda (HNRDA) Programs for 2021-2022 Funding

  • Mental Health
  • OMICS Technology for Health
  • Dengue and Other Arboviruses
  • Diagnostics
  • Functional Food
  • Biomedical Engineering and Health Technologies
  • Information and Communication Technology for Health
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation in Health

Who may apply?

Filipinos with at least a Master’s Degree in a relevant field, have proven research competence/track record, and employed in universities/colleges, research agencies/institutes, hospitals, and other health related agencies.

Interested researchers are required to register first in the DOST Project Management Information System (DPMIS) through this link Proposal submission will also be through the DPMIS after registration has been confirmed.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Collaborative Research and Capacity Building Initiative in HIV and Schistosomiasis

What are the priority topics?

  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • Schistosomiasis

Who may submit?

Filipinos with at least a Master’s Degree in a relevant field and employed in universities/colleges, research agencies/institutes, hospitals, and other health-related agencies that are members of the Regional Health Research and Development Consortia (RHRDC) or in Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium (CHRDC) for Region XIII.  

How to submit?

Proponents must submit their capsule proposals using the DOST-PCHRD forms to CHRDC thru this email address: and with the subject: Capsule Proposal on HIV or Schistosomiasis. CHRDC will be the one to endorse the submitted research proposals to DOST-PCHRD.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: PhD Program in Molecular Biomedicine

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Filipino citizen;
  • In good health condition;
  • Not be more than 40 years old at the time of application;
  • Holds a Master’s degree in a field relevant to health and biomedicine;
  • Has an outstanding academic record;
  • Has passed the admission requirements for the PhD study;
  • Has passed the interview and other screening procedures;
  • Will conduct his/ her research for the entire duration of the scholarship and of the PhD Program

What is the program duration?

The scholarship program is good for three (3) years.

How many can avail the program?

Two (2) positions of PhD students will be available each year at the University of Trieste/ UNITS, Italy (subject to the availability of funds).

What are the scholarship privileges?

  • Living allowance (20,000€/year);
  • Book allowance (500€/year);
  • Bench fee (4,000€/year);
  • Health and accident insurance; and
  • One round-trip economy fare from residence to Italy.
